When the weather starts to get warmer, unwelcome guests reappear in our homes, making us long for the return of winter: these "guests" are insects. Ants, flies, midges and mosquitoes are attracted into our homes for our blood and by leftover food and other factors.

Today, many chemical products - insecticides - can be found in shops to kill insects. But these insecticides (often in spray form) can damage to our health and pollute the environment. So, it is always preferable to try natural remedies first, which are less harmful but equally effective.

If keeping the house tidy and clean isn't sufficient to repel insects, we need to try other remedies. Among these, a single, simple ingredient added to the water with which you wash the floors, will be sufficient to get rid of all insects forever - and while you perfume your home. Read on to find out more:

There is a product we can use to sanitize our floors, perfume them and at the same time keep insects away from our home: yellow soap. This soap, made up of water, coconut oil and glycerin is also known as "potassium soft soap". This soap was very popular in the distant past and has been "rediscovered" in recent years due to its high degreasing power and pleasant scent it leaves on the surfaces. Completely biodegradable and ecologically friendly, as well as being cheap, this soap is our best ally against insects (which don't like its scent).

So, you can wash the floors of your home by dissolving 30 grams of yellow soap in a bucket of hot or warm water. If you want to intensify its sanitizing effect, you can also add 250 ml of apple cider vinegar, also well known for its sanitizing properties and insect-repelling properties. You can also use this mixture, inserted into a spray bottle, to clean sanitary ware, the kitchen and all other surfaces in the home.

Try this simple method and you won't find a single fly in your home!
