Small home? Make more space with some brilliant furnishing solutions

Sometimes, getting everything we need and want into the home becomes a real challenge: the right balance between the space available and the actual livability of the rooms is a difficult to reach in certain situations. Furniture that we like, but which cannot fit in causes us to make compromises. And above all, the lack of space to store everything you need is ever-present: these problems pose a real challenge when furnishing.

However, examples of interior design from those who have found a solution can come to our aid: we propose some of these below - maybe they can also be useful for you:

Multifunctional furniture: these items are not always a good investment, especially if it is a sofa bed that eventually gets worn out. But some objects, which actually need to be used less often, can make a difference: like a coffee table that also becomes a desk for using a PC.

Do not forget the corners: always consider, when inserting a wardrobe or sideboard in a room, if it would not be better to put it in a corner, so as to use the remaining space for other things.

Online you can find a thousand ideas for bedside tables that use very little space. In the most "economical" cases, even a shelf with raised edges can replace a cabinet: it still offers space to place books, mobile phones and more. You will then need an applique or spotlight mounted on the wall or on the headboard of the bed as a light point.

Open shelves to drain dishes immediately above the sink, perhaps even with hooks to hang kitchen accessories. Or the shelves that are placed around and above the microwave, with the shelf raised enough to let the air pass through: these are just some of the furnishing accessories that help to make space in the kitchen.

In the bathroom - or in any other small room - you can consider using any niches there may be: mount thin, flush shelves, and you can use them to store a lot of things, including ornaments.

Stairs are one of the most difficult challenges: the right combination of incline and comfort sometimes is a tough decision, but there are beautifully designed solutions, with alternating half steps, which come in handy in tiny homes.

And never forget the stairwell: some are large enough to accommodate small bathrooms, a laundry corner or a reading niche, while others come in handy equipped with drawers and pull-out shelves to use as extra wardrobes or closets!

Even the space around a window - on the landings and in the living rooms - can accommodate furniture: a bridge structure on the sides and above the window frame houses bookcases and cabinets, and a seat below hides drawers which can be filled!

There are even those who have installed a retractable shoe rack in a false ceiling: for sure, in this way there are no shoes piled up in the corners of the house!

It takes a degree of creativity, but you can find many ideas to make space at home!
