Who wants to spend all their free time cleaning the house? Most likely, nobody. Yet there are days when it seems that, when clean a room like the bathroom - in which maintaining the adequate level of hygiene is perhaps higher than elsewhere - we end up working much harder than we would like to.

However, you could speed up some chores without having to give up the quality of the results by resorting to tips that save time. Housekeeping professionals and experts share many of these tips online, and while some may be taken for granted, it is not always guaranteed that they are all well-known. Below you will find 4 that are worth trying:

Always be prepared with base products

Let's start with a basic rule: cleaning professional @cleanhappyco recommends everyone has the bare minimum of cleaning products to hand - under the sink in the bathroom, or somewhere nearby.

Make space in a drawer or on a shelf for:

  • A glass cleaner;
  • A multi-surface degreaser spray;
  • At least a couple of soft cloths.

Use the most suitable products for the type of material you have to clean and remember to pass over them quickly every other day: no dirt should accumulate that will become difficult to remove. Above all, splashes of toothpaste or make-up products, but also certain hair products should be cleaned away often ... In short, a quick wipe is better than having to then intervene with aggressive products to remove the dirt that has become "baked in".

Choose smooth surfaces

On a preventative level, when furnishing or renovating the bathroom, always choose smooth surfaces.

The owner of a cleaning company states that she cannot stand mosaic shower floors: there are too many cracks in which dirt and mold can form - a nightmare to keep properly cleaned. And to clean them, you need a brush and a lot of elbow grease. The same is true for the doors on furniture with many grooves and slots - as well as any furnishing accessory that is made up of many small parts, lattices and carved details.

The same professional reveals this tip that she uses in certain bathrooms: if there are very powerful lights close to the mirror (as often happens), she turns them off before cleaning the mirror. This is because that powerful lights give off a lot of heat and cause the glass surface to dry too quickly, so it is easier for streaks to remain.

So if there are no windows, it is best to leave only the main light on (or open a door to let some light in while cleaning the mirror)!

If you use dish sponges with handles that hold liquid soap (one of the trade names is "dishmatic", and they are also found in all large, online stores), use one in the bathroom (with the relative detergent for the surfaces). As you can see in this video, with just this one tool you can scrub ceramics and taps, and then just rinse off.
