9 stunning, modern staircase designs for you to admire

Stairs are often a neglected element in a house, or rather one whose design is perhaps not studied in detail as we do for other parts of the house. They are conceived, first of all, as a useful rather than a decorative element of the home. Yet they always occupy a lot of space and are also visible from many parts of the house.

In modern homes, however, stairs often become features of the environment, with sophisticated designs that give character to everything around them. A staircase with a captivating look could be the element that revolutionizes the whole house. Below you will find some ideas for designing modern stairs!

Here's a very modern-looking flight of stairs with low-lights and an all-glass barrier serving as a unique handrail.

Then there are suspended stairs, ones with the steps that seem to float in mid-air: they are amongst the most fascinating, even if the lack of a handrail doesn't make them suitable for everyone!

Sometimes it is what is placed under the staircase that makes it unique. Here, the underside of one of the upper steps provides the support for a swing!

Metal mesh instead of the usual materials, and with the bottom steps extended to serve as a desk: an amazing idea!

And what would you say of a staircase integrated into an open shelving unit, all in metal in pastel colors?

The steps on the first flight of stairs take up all the space, but only a few extend all the way to the end, so there's room on half the staircase to decorate as you like.

Curved shapes so you can sit on the stairs as if they were an armchair, all in sinuous lines that join steps and railings.

There are spiral staircases and then there are shapes that seem to be formed by the wind, and seem to be moving! A staircase like this is enough to fill an empty space.

These really are interior design triumphs, don't you think?
