However tidy we may be, there will always be a chair or some other piece of furniture in the bedroom that gets covered with discarded clothes. Why not help yourself by using space-saving solutions which use vacant corners to hang up your clothes?

When choosing the bed frame, it is best to consider getting higher ones that have space underneath for drawers, baskets or other storage containers.

As for traditional chairs, they could be replaced by seats with storage space under their seats.

Always with a view to not avoiding a mess on the floor, take a look around and find points on the walls where you could mount hooks and hangers for your clothes (and other items which lay around looking messy).

One idea, for example, coudl be to use a particular wall as an open wardrobe for the clothes you wear most frequently: boxes or shoe racks at the bottom; hangers for coats, scarves, bags, etc. at the top.

For those who want to sort the laundry in the bedroom, it is best not to resort to using free-standing baskets but rather use laundry bags hung up on a wall, behind a door or even inside a wardrobe.

Sometimes, a single room has both the sleeping area and a corner which is used as an office. In these cases, to tidy up and make everything look more spacious, it is often best to divide the two areas with dividers or half walls that are not too bulky.

A deep, wide shelf in a corner - or one made in an "L" shape - can become a desk or a dressing table, if needed. Better still if it is close to a window (like an extension of the sill).

Did you believe there is no space for a make-up corner in your bedroom? This solution might change your mind.
