Dream terraces: 12 ideas to set up enchanting relaxation areas outside

Comfortable lounges, outdoor dining areas, perhaps with a panoramic view of the surroundings: terraces become the most lived-in home spaces as soon as the temperatures allow you to spend the days and evenings outside, both alone or in company. And although it is undoubted that sometimes the bare minimum is enough to make them usable (a cheap table, chairs, a sofa or armchairs), it is equally true that being able to set them up in a more refined and scenographic / picturesque way has a completely different aesthetic, but which remains functional.

Below we offer you many different examples of enchanting terraces, suitable for all tastes:

Two different lounges: one with dark, gray, rattan sofas and the other with a matching loveseat and armchairs in a lighter color. The whole area is made homogeneous by the white cushions and the pearl gray carpets, and there is no shortage of plants (all in white pots, although they are of different models) and lanterns: this area is now ready to host a bunch of friends!

Honey-colored wood and dove-gray cushions: simple structures that could also be made with pallets, and suitable for many different occassions. To add a splash of color, you can add colored throws and cushions!

If you like bright colors, this colorful Mumbai terrace is truly a boho inspiration to behold, with lots of plants to make it feel fresh and pleasant.

A proper living room outside: a large dining table with comfortable armchairs and a sofa on what is probably the coolest side of the terrace. A modern and clean look.

Even just a few cushions and a few raised planters can be enough to transform a terrace with very little expense. You can create a small green wall, with fragrant plants, and a few mattresses on the floor will naturally create very comfortable sofas.

With wooden crates, or similar materials, you can easily create a small raised platform (which can also act as a storage container!) And in this container, you can store everything you need for the area: shades, sails, sheets, gazebo poles and even mats and rugs!

Halfway between a Zen garden and an outdoor living room: white stones and larger rocks, with plants and areas covered with wooden tiles to accommodate the coffee table with the armchair. A very sophisticated and modern look.

Fixed roofs can then be installed, such as those of pergolas of various kinds: in addition to the classic rustic wood or wrought iron, more modern models can be used, or even glass canopies can be used that protect the area from the rain.

If the terrace is in a seaside location that does not have harsh winters, a creeper running along the pergola will act as a cover, and white curtains can close the sides.

These self-supporting structures are also beautiful!

And what about having a Japanese garden in the corner of the terrace?
