Plants in the home are always a detail that furnish in a unique way, capable of making any space immediately more welcoming. Seeing greenery in the house, and taking care of it, is a contact with nature that also helps us to relax: over the years, several studies have even shown that having a plant at home also promotes creativity! Sometimes it is recommended to take care of plants to relieve symptoms of stress and even manage depression.

But can pants be kept in the bedroom? There was a belief once that they were bad for your health, but that's not the case. Depending on the size of the room, one or a few plants in the bedroom can actually be beneficial. Not only can they help clean the air we breathe, but some also emit a delicate scent that induces sleep and promotes relaxation. In short, they improve the quality of our sleep, which certainly also has excellent benefits on our general health.

Very beautiful to look at and with an intoxicating scent, jasmine is among the plants whose fragrance can improve the quality of our sleep. They need a lot of light and regular watering (especially during the flowering period), so they do well in a room facing south or west, and they should be kept near the window or directly on the windowsill.

There are also climbing varieties of jasmine, whose growth will be accompanied with appropriate twines, or whose foliage may cascade downward.

This is another white and fragrant flower. The gardenia is decidedly elegant, and its flowers resemble those of small roses. Cultivation requires a little patience and a lot of attention: they also need a lot of natural light and the soil must always remain very slightly humid. Be careful not to overdo it, or the roots will rot. They have a slow growth speed and form a compact bush. In spring and summer they can also be put outside.

Lavender: Of all the scents, this is perhaps the best known. And it is used as a phytotherapeutic remedy for anxiety. The smell of this plant can reduce tachycardia, hypertension and stress levels, and it is no coincidence that many remedies and beauty products that promote relaxation contain lavender essential oil in them.

Lavender also loves heat and light, does not like low temperatures or stagnate water, but in reality they are easy to cultivate and grow quickly, as well as being easy to reproduce with cuttings. Place them in a sunny spot in the room and water them only when the soil (properly nourished and easy draining) dries up, and they will be a great addition to your room.

The scientific name of this plant is Stephanotis floribunda and it is a plant similar in appearance and scent to the common jasmine. Flowering lasts several weeks and is the one that brings with it the scent that makes us relax. It is a climbing plant, so it will look great with a frame at its back (maybe one made from bamboo canes!). It likes constant humidity and a temperature around 15°C, and without dropping below 10 or 12°C (although for short periods it can occasionally resist even lows of 5°C). During the flowering period it must not be subjected to dramatic thermal changes, or it could completely lose all of its buds.
