When you really think about it, there are many old or disused objects that can be recycled with creativity and transformed into unusual and original furnishing elements. Giving a second life to items that we might have thrown away is an idea to give character to the house, and a practice that is often also satisfying, since it allows you to furnish in a completely personal style and without having to spend a fortune.

From bicycles to old shutters, take a look at how many items you can use to furnish a bathroom in an eclectic, personal way.

An old wooden table can become a sink cabinet in a perfect rustic style, suitable for ceramic countertop sinks.

Instead, what about an old bicycle supporting a wooden shelf? It would truly be an unexpected piece of furniture in the bathroom! Having enough space to store useful items in other furniture instead of under the sink is an original idea.

Old sewing machine frames are also very popular as supports for the sink counter, and undoubtedly lend a very charming vintage character.

If you like the idea of giving a nautical touch to the furniture, ropes are an ideal and very versatile element as well as very easy to install. You can use them as toilet paper roll holders, using a few knots and simple wall hooks.

And if you use longer rope lengths, hung with hooks, or better still, tied to a cleat, just like those found on boats. Perfect for a house at a seaside location!

Other common and inexpensive items that you can easily use to decorate the bathroom are wooden boxes, that are excellent as open shelves.

...or as a shelf-container for all the products we want to keep close at hand.

An old wooden chair, from which part of the seat has been cut off and then hung upside down, is used as a towel holder on the backrest, while the seat will be a convenient shelf.

Another great success story of DIY furniture: ladders - and even better if equipped with baskets!

...or can act as panels to attach hooks to and hang containers to tidy up toothbrushes, brushes, combs and brushes.
