Taking a shower is one of the greatest pleasures we can allow ourselves after returning from a tiring day at work or to unwind after activities outdoors. Not only this: the shower can also be a moment in which we regain our composure. Entering a clean shower is therefore very important to our enjoyment of it.

However, it can happen that is not perfectly clean: blackened grout, stained glass doors, the shower head clogged with limescale - these are all annoying inconveniences which can mar our shower experience. How then, do we return the shower to its former glory? Read on to find out more:

1. Grout

Shower grout (the material between the tiles) often turns black due to the accumulation of dirt and mold. To clean the grout, use hydrogen peroxide: soak cotton balls with this product or spray it directly on the joints and leave it to act for a few hours before cleaning off, perhaps using an old toothbrush.

To remove blockages from the holes in the shower head, you can disassemble it and immerse it in a solution of baking soda and vinegar or, if it is not possible to disassemble it, wrap it in a bag, pour in 240 ml of white vinegar and 70 g of baking soda and leave it to act overnight . The effervescent reaction between vinegar and soda will remove all traces of limescale. The next morning, remove the bag and eliminate the last of the residue with running water.

To clean the shower cubicle, make a detergent by diluting a mixture of vinegar and water in a 2:1 ratio in a container with a spray dispenser and scrubbin with a sponge. Alternatively, make a spray with 150 g of citric acid in 1 liter of water. If the cubicle is particularly dirty, make a paste with sodium bicarbonate and vinegar and rub over the cubicle with a soft cloth, but without applying too much force to avoid scratching the surfaces.

4. Faucet

Finally, to clean the faucet, you can use the same products used for the shower cubicle; alternatively you can remove limescale quickly by passing a slice of lemon or cucumber over the faucet. Let the juice act for a few minutes before rinsing off with a sponge and you will see that your faucet will be clean and shiny again.

Are you now ready for a nice relaxing shower?
