So, why use vinegar when it comes to cleaning the mattress? Economical and very versatile, vinegar is characterized by an acidity of 5%, which can eliminate bacteria and germs present all surfaces, including a mattress.
To do this, pour some vinegar into a spray bottle and spray your mattress; don't worry about the pungent smell - it will soon evaporate away, leaving your mattress completely clean and germ-free.

How to finish off cleaning your mattress using vinegar
The efficacy of using vinegar can be enhanced by adding a second ingredient: baking soda.
When your mattress is completely dry, sprinkle it with cold baking soda (which you have put in the refrigerator earlier), leaving this to act for at least 2 hours (but preferably for an entire day). After this time, you can vacuum up the baking soda.
Using these two products will not only clean your mattress, but will protect it from the proliferation of mold.
