Recycling old wooden doors, windows and shutters, is one of the most popular DIY recycling trends: in fact, this allows you to give new life to objects that have lost their primary function and would normally be thrown away. Even when the paint is peeling, the wood is ruined, parts are missing, these old fixtures can become decorations that can be customized - even for Christmas.

Restored, these items can become supports for wreaths and various other compositions to be placed in or outside of the home. Check out the ideas below:

Arranged in a corner of a room, an old door can enliven the environment with wreaths and lights - and perhaps even serve as the background for the Christmas tree.

Even small, narrow or short shutters or doors are very cute when decorated with some branches and pine cones.

An old shutter mounted on the wall can become the panel on which to fix a Christmas composition: indulge yourself using fronds, bells, branches with red berries, tartan fabric bows, and more!

You can also enhance the compositions using green branches from ferns, eucalyptus or other plants that grow during winter!

You can take advantage of using old shutters, windows and doors at the entrance to your home.

If framed by fairy lights, they will be wonderful to look at at night - like a magical passageway to another world.

If you use windows or old doors with glass panels, you can fix Christmas cards to them; or use the various panels to do some stenciling of messages, words or festive phrases.

A bundle of branches, with lights and a bell: all mounted on an old door. Simple, rustic and adorable.

There are also those who set up this type of decoration outside, propping the doors against a tree trunk or the walls of the house.

And it's never a bad idea to paint these old wooden window frames red for Christmas time!

A little fake snow at the corners of the glass panes; then add balls and fronds: it looks just like the window of a Christmas village home.

Happy Holidays!
