Do you want to use cotton branches for your compositions? Create them cheaply at home

Cotton boughs and branches look beautiful in a myriad of arrangements around the home, decorating any room with class. It is a plant that is not easy to grow at home - nor is it so easy to find a shop that sells cotton branches for decorative compositions. You can use artificial ones, but if you don't know where to get them, this can be a problem. But, have no fear: it's very easy to create these at home - with your own hands and at very little expense.

It's a quick and easy DIY project, also suitable for children, and for which you probably already have everything you need at home. Read on to find out more:

A TikTok video, uploaded by user @white.and.wood shows us how easy this project is.

All you need is:

  • Stripped, wooden twigs/branches. Look for simple ones that remind you of the ones cotton grows on.
  • Brown paper (like the type for parcels). Brown craft paper is optimal.
  • Cotton balls, just the ones you use at home.
  • Scissors.
  • White thread.
  • Hot glue.

Proceed as follows:

  • Take some cotton balls -a fistfull, or a little less, is fine.
  • Roll up the balls with your hands to hide any frayed edges on the underneaths.
  • Take the thread and tie up the ball so that it is divided into four wedges - a bit like a gift package.
  • Cut out a square of brown paper, then fold it into quarters.
  • Cut away one corner, creating a curved cut-out.
  • Make another curved cut so that all the folded layers have the shape of a lanced leaf.
  • Open the square of paper: it will be in the shape of four leaves, joined in the center. Place the tied up cotton ball inside the "leaves" and glue it in place.
  • Your cotton flower is now ready and you just have to repeat the operation to fill up the branches.

This is a great idea to make long-lasting compositions! Will you give it try?
