The oven’s gas nozzles, despite being a fundamental element of an appliance that we use several times a day (the oven), are a part of the kitchen that we usually do not include in our daily cleaning, rather limiting ourselves to more visible objects. However, there are times when they need to be cleaned.

Over time, you may notice changes in the color of the gas flame - from blue to orange; or that the gas is not flowing properly. When this happens, we need to clean the oven’s gas nozzles.

To clean these, we can use two ingredients commonly found in our homes and completely counter-intuitive; let's discover what these are together:

First of all, before proceeding with cleaning, disconnect your oven from the electricity supply and close the gas taps, ventilating the environment to remove any excess gas. Then remove all the oven’s gas parts and open all the knobs so that any residual gas can escape. Clean the oven first, then remove all removable parts.

You are now ready to proceed with cleaning the gas nozzles; you can do this with two simple ingredients: demineralized water and a sachet of dry yeast. That's right, you read that correctly: this time you won't need the yeast to make a cake, but to clean and degrease the nozzles thoroughly. Mix the two ingredients until you get a pasty mixture that you must apply to the nozzles with the aid of an old toothbrush. Let the mixture act for a few minutes before removing it with a damp cloth. Your nozzles will be as good as new again!

To clean and sanitize them thoroughly, you can also replace demineralized water with white vinegar; the procedure will be the same as described above, only one ingredient is changed. And the results will be truly wonderful. Try it: you will be amazed!
