When you want to place an extra plant in the garden, but without digging a hole in the ground, we rely on pots of various sizes. And although there are a myriad of different materials, shapes and colors, there is one type that reigns supreme: the terracotta pot. These too can have many different shapes, have different names, colors and prices. But they are never a wrong choice.

Terracotta allows the soil to breath better, so it is preferable to most alternatives. They have a timeless classical charm and are able to hold any type of plant and match any type of furnishing style. Find out how many ways you can take advantage of terracotta pots by reading further:

The larger ones, especially if they are well made, are eternal decorations in the garden, perfect for small fruit shrubs or flowering bushes that can grow in these giant planters forever.

If you do not want to dig a flowerbed into the ground, using large terracotta pots to hold small trees is an elegant and timeless alternative, which really goes well with any type of landscape style: a classic of Mediterranean aesthetics.

There is virtually no combination, between the shapes of the pots and the type of plants, that does not work: putting together terracotta pots of different shapes, and with different plants inside them, will create enchanting corners in your garden.

An idea that we often recommend is that of creating vertical planters: so-called "towers" of flowers. Just place more vases of the same model, but with smaller diameters, one on top of the other, and then fill them with flowers.

Smaller ones can be used to make for lovely decorations - even as part of a creative wreath to spruce up doors and walls.

There are a thousand ways to recycle even broken pots: they can be stuck into the ground (as if they had been left there for decades or even centuries), used for mosaics, or even for labelling aromatic herbs!

You could even combine them together to create a sphere, where each pot can be filled as desired with your favorite plants, (succulents are very popular).
