A bookcase that conceals a door is an old trick, used in the past in rich homes to hide secret materials or treasures. It is, however, always a great trick if you want a secret room where you can safely hide items.

A pot for a plant with a double, false bottom can be very useful for hiding keys, (if it is outside), or for hiding money and jewelry (when it is inside).

And what about this little safe disguised as a light socket, don't you think it's brilliant? There is even the lock which is not visible.

Even a picture with keys or a safe hidden behind it is another great idea.

Taking advantage of the empty space under the stairs is less common, but is a truly brilliant solution. And disguising it by carpeting the staircase, is an even more ingenious idea.

Another great trick to hide a safe is to hang shelves on the wall that act as a bookcase. These shelves are not fixed and can be opened, like a door, to expose the safe.
