Latex (rubber) gloves that are usually used in the kitchen to wash the dishes and do other types of cleaning, are very handy and can be reused several times over. However, sometimes they can rip even on the first use.

Throwing gloves away when they're still new is a real shame. Ideally, it's a good idea to try to use them in other ways.

And because they are flexible and waterproof, this can be done quite easily. Here, then, are some ways in which damaged latex gloves can be repurposed:

Each part of a glove can be useful, based on the part, for a specific purpose. Given this, you can cut off the part/s you need as you need them. So, let's move on to the ways a rubber glove (and its parts) can be used:

To remove hair from fabrics, you can cover the outside of a dish sponge with a rectangle of rubber cut from the middle of the glove. Attach the rubber with hot glue and you can immediately get going cleaning up stray hair.

To secure a garbage bag to the outside edge of a trash can, simply cut a strip off the base of a rubber glove and use it as an elastic band.

If you want a pot plant to stop sliding on a smooth surface, trace the diameter of the base of the pot onto the surface of a glove, cut out the circular shape, and place it under the pot.

By cutting two strips from the base of the glove and using them as elastic bands placed over the ends of a cutting board, you will ensure its stability. In this way you will solve, in an instant, the problem of a cutting board that always slips and moves while you are using it.

A rubber glove's fingers can be used to replace the lids of open bottles. Put tissue paper over the opening and slip a finger over the neck of the bottle. Your bottles will now be properly sealed.

Finally, a very effective way of sealing open packs of pasta (and other products) is to secure them with rubber bands made from rubber gloves. Unorthodox, but effective!
