The birth of a baby is a joyous event for a family, and there is something magical in waiting for the happy event, especially when you start shopping and even prepare the home for the baby's arrival. Among the thousand preparations to do, is the setting up the nursery - this is the room that will welcome your child into your home and that then perhaps later, will become the child's bedroom.

Needed then, obviously, is a cradle / cot for the baby to sleep in - but also required is the furniture that will contain everything you need to take care of the little one: clothes, toys, accessories, diapers, baby bathing products, and more. From the TikTok account of @tidycademypro, comes a series of useful ideas to create a beautiful, welcoming and super organized baby nursery.

Like most projects, we start with cleaning: all the objects, clothes and accessories that will have to be used and store will need to have been properly washed and cleaned - and then we move on to decide how to arrange them.

  • Clothes: whether there is a compact wardrobe or a free-standing wardrobe unit, the baby's garments deserve the same attention we give to our own clothing. Divide the garments by categories, dimensions, materials and hang and fold everything using any useful equipment - such as different types of hangers, dividers for the drawers or shelves (and maybe even storage boxes and baskets). In any case, always keep in mind not to use items which are too colorful or of mixed materials: select natural fibers and decide on a color palette to stay within for any of these choices. The more neutral the colors, the more easily you will find baskets and accessories that match the decor.
  • Toys and games: while they are babie,s there won't be that many toys needs, but slowly the number will grow exponentially. A basket for stuffed animals and some dedicated drawer space for other toys is a good start.
  • In the video there is the adorable idea of using a hanger for scarves (the ones made with lots of hoops attached) and using them for all a little girl's bows!
  • In the open furniture units, choose two different types of baskets to fill each compartment.
  • Use one drawer for bed covers only, one compartment for the cot's linen, one space for all the onesies and other spare items: if you roll up everything you can, they will be easier to put into the dividers used in the furniture units, and will also be easier to find later.
