Over time it is inevitable that some furniture, especially if already old, will bore us or be damaged in such a way as to make it too expensive to restore. So if you come to think you want to get rid of it, why not take a step back and consider how to recycle it, after turning it into something else?

There are many ideas from which to draw inspiration from to convert aged and out of fashion furniture, or even simply pieces that were not to our taste or that do not match the furnishing style of the rest of the house. For example dressers, and even their drawers can become other pieces of furniture useful in a totally different way, and like these, there are also many other ideas. Here are some examples from which to draw inspiration:

The drawers of some old pieces of furniture that you want to get rid of, or that you have converted into something else, can in turn be transformed, perhaps into small open shelves to be repainted as desired.

Those drawers that are wider and not too deep, on the other hand, can become beautiful coffee tables.

Here is an idea for an old chest of drawers: removing the drawers (which you can recycle separately) and making it an open unit to be used perhaps for dishes, even positioned under a well protected porch would not be bad!

A bench to be placed under a window sill made from an old piece of furniture: a comfortable piece of furniture with a truly captivating vintage style.

The frame of a French door can be transformed into a bookcase, by adding thin wooden shelves, or even glass!

Wall units and kitchen furniture reused to create an ideal bed to be placed close to a wall with a window, so as to also act as a perfect reading nook during the day.

A very popular project is to convert old dressers into other furniture, such as a kitchen island!

Very often, then, they can become sofas. This really works well with dressers of any size: the smaller ones will become like armchairs with a higher back.

Or they could become a sofa suitable for the children's room.

From old cots, on the other hand, supports can be obtained to hang anything on the wall, in any room.

More recycled chests of drawers: for a cabinet where children can hang up their jackets, rucksacks and shoes they use every day to go to school.
