Are your hair accessories always laying around in a mess? Restore order with these simple tips
Anyone who has long hair knows how many accessories are needed to keep their "manes" under control. And these accessories can make a real mess laying around the bathroom, for example.
In fact, we never seem to have enough elastic bands, hair clips, hairpins, combs and brushes for our hair; not to mention hairdryers and straighteners - essential for perfect styling but bulky objects to store away neatly.
Fortunately, by following some simple "rules", you can restore order to your hair accessories.
1. Selection
Over time, the number of your hair accessories has probably grown significantly. But are you really sure you need all of these? Start by gathering up all of your hair accessories and then selecting only those you actually use. If you haven't used an accessory by now, you probably won't in the future. Also take advantage of this sorting to toss out any damaged or broken items.
2. A frame for hairgrips and headbands
Hairgrips, hairpins and headbands can be clipped to ribbons stretched over a picture frame (see the above photo); easy to make yourself, you can customize it however you like.
3. Scrunchies holders
Here are hooks for holding scrunchies that you can attach to the bathroom tiles or inside a wardrobe: get enough of them to hold all your scrunchies and other hairbands.
4. Worktop elastic bands holders
If, however, you prefer to have your hair bands and elastics readily to hand, then the ideal tool for holding them is a cylindrical support, like the ones pictured here. You can also put brushes and combs in the middle cavaties of these cylinders.
5. Rod for headbands
If headbands are your thing, get a rod to attach to a wall or under a shelf: you can neatly slide your headbands onto this useful support.
6. Pipes or brush holders?
PVC pipes are perfect for creating a handy wall or door support for your brushes, hairdryer and straightener.
7. Wall organizer
If the space available to you is limited, use the back of doors as storage areas by using a practical wall organizer: hang it up with a hook and you can store all your hair accessories neatly.
8. Glass goblet headband holder
Tidy up all your headbands by hooking them onto a glass goblet: this will not only be convenient, but also aesthetically pleasing.
9. A super-tidy drawer
Do you prefer to keep all your hair accessories in one drawer? To guarantee maximum order, get some small containers to divide up all the types neatly.
10. Rails
Simple, wall-mounted rails equipped with hooks, clips and containers will be perfect for holding all your hair accessories neatly.
11. Stackable boxes
How about using small stackable rectangular boxes for your hair accessories? By choosing transparent boxes, you will be able to spot what you need immediately.
12. DIY organizer
Make a practical organizer for brushes, hairdryers, straighteners and more, by recycling old pieces of wood or by cutting up a pallet: you can customize this organizer according to your needs using hooks and other support brackets.
