When we encounter malfunctions in our washing machine we may be tempted to immediately call in a repair expert. However, there are cases in which a problem is not due to a breakdown or malfunctions, but is simply due to our carelessness.

One example is that of a "malfunctioning" softener dispenser/tray, which we could find full of water at the end of a wash. In this case, the cause is probably due to our incorrect use of the fabric softener - which we have probably used in excessive quantities. The solution is therefore very simple: simply reduce the amount of fabric softener you use and dilute it with a little water before starting the wash.

You can also go one step further to avoid running into this problem in the future: there are natural alternatives to using commercial products and these are good for the environment and for sensitive skin.

For example, baking soda is perfect for replacing fabric softener and will also have a sanitizing effect on your laundry. All you need to do is put a teaspoon of powder into the dispenser for each wash.

Citric acid is another perfect product to replace fabric softener: dilute 150 grams of it in 1 liter of distilled water and use 100 ml of the mixture in the dispenser.

Finally, white vinegar will keep your clothes soft and fragrant: also in this case 100 ml in the tray will perfectly replace your usual fabric softener.

Your washing machine will thank you!
