Feel younger with a new haircut: 3 useful tips

Often, we go to the hairdresser looking for a new look an with the desire to feel and look younger. And indeed, the right haircut can give us a younger and more vibrant look - if you have the courage to try something new.

When choosing a cut or style, however, it is necessary to consider the characteristics and features of one's face: those with a round face, for example, should concentrate on the temples and forehead; while for those with square faces, asymmetrical cuts with soft waves are recommended. Finally, those with elongated faces should go for shorter cuts, off the shoulders, layered or with fine fringes.

We suggest below 3 useful tips for choosing a stylish cut.

1. The Bob

The Bob is a great classic, and amongst the most requested styles today. A timeless symbol of emancipation, this cut is very cute and immediately gives a younger, elegant look. It is suitable for both straight or wavy hair and can be chosen in  short, medium or long versions, depending on one's tastes.

Medium and layered cuts are ideal if you want to give movement and softness to the face and it is possible to "play" with shapes and finishes, perhaps giving volume and movement with an "unkempt" look.

2. Pixie cut

The pixie cut is a short cut that can be a challenge for many of us. Yet it is worth a try to achieve a young, casual and fresh look. Of fundamental importance in this type of hairstyle is the crown, which is precisely what makes the cut "cheeky". If you want to appear younger, an irregular pixie cut could be for you.

Tousled and elegant at the same time, this cut has the sides and nape of the neck shaved, while the crown remains longer and can be styled as desired. This cut is also suitable for all hair types.

3. Hair care

After the age of forty, hair needs more care to prevent it from weakening and breaking. We therefore advise you choose non-soapy and less aggressive shampoos and use them in conjunction with strengthening conditioners made from natural ingredients.

  • To give volume, nourishment and sheen to hair, you can prepare a conditioner with 100 ml of non-alcoholic beer and 10 ml of aloe vera gel, to be applied and left on for about 20 minutes.
  • Coconut oil is also very healthy for your hair: just heat it a little, apply it, and leave it on overnight.
  • Avocado (a half), mayonnaise (10 ml) and sweet almond oil (3 ml) are the ingredients to make a super-nourishing conditioner to be applied twice a week for 20 minutes.
