Long hair in bed: the tips to keep it beautiful, healthy and untangled through the night

Long hair, especially if chemically treated, dry or brittle, may not look good in the morning when you wake up. How many of us wonder what is best to do with our hair in bed? In fact, there are many things to pay attention to: first of all, we don't want to disturb our sleep, but then, we also want to stop knots or frizziness from forming. How nice would it be to wake up in the morning with perfect hair?

Perfection may not be achievable, but certainly there are some precautions that help us nourish and protect our hair even while we sleep. A TikTok video by @elissakincade gives us some advice and guidance:

@Elissakincade's first tip for keeping healthy hair even while we sleep is to use a brush. In fact, by brushing your hair before going to sleep, you remove any knots and tangles formed during the day, preventing them from getting worse.

The second step is treatment: we can nourish our hair even at night by applying a treatment, preferably a specific oil, especially on the ends. This will nourish your hair making it appear healthier when you wake up. Washing in the morning will only be necessary if you have naturally oily hair.

To finish, make a high bun, to be secured with a soft elastic, preferably in cotton or sponge or with a few hair clips. Alternatively, you can make a high ponytail with a soft elastic and without tying it tightly to prevent the hair from breaking, or in a braid. If you don't want to resort to using rubber bands, an alternative is to wrap your hair in a silk scarf: in addition to keeping your hair neat, it will stop your hair from frizzing.

Loosely tied or loosely braided hair will be tidier and much less knotted in the morning. If you really do not want to tie up your hair at night, before going to bed, spread it out on the pillow, so that it does not get crushed during the night.

You are now ready for bed - sweet dreams!
