As spring approaches, one may feel the desire to decorate one's home with the colors and the scents of the season; it's a way to recover from a dull winter and celebrate the awakening of nature, with its longer days, a warm sun and a desire to go outside and frolic in the sunshine.

And while waiting for the Easter holidays, it is tradition to decorate the home with the symbols and icons of spring. Without buying expensive ornaments, we can decorate our home with the help and resources that nature gives us: branches, leaves, flowers and even small eggs.

1. Flowering branches

The easiest idea for home decoration is to simply use a flowering branches: place them in a glass vase together with stones that resemble eggs, perhaps add a small nest made using straw, and add a few green leaves. You will now have a very simple, attractive decoration.

2. Easter table centerpiece

How about a nice Easter table centerpiece? Make it using a simple tray, one or two rabbit figures (perhaps made using origami or paper mache), bulbous flowers and small branches and twigs arranged to form a nest of eggs. 

3. Candle holders

Turning a plain white candle into an attractive decoration is a breeze using a simple glass vase and thin, flexible twigs and small branches.

4. Egg wreath

Even the Easter festivities can have a wreath: combine flexible branches with ivy leaves, beads and small, colored eggs.

5. A pom-pom tree

A wonderful alternative to the classic Easter tree is a pom-pom tree. And making this with your kids will be a lot of fun. All you need is a nice branch - perhaps with some buds, flowers or small leaves - some yarn and colored ribbons. Make the pom-poms using wool, cardboard and elastic bands, Then, add some colored ribbons to hang them with and decorate the branch. Beautiful, right?

6. A basket of carrots

The symbol par excellence for Easter (after eggs), is carrots. Make your own by wrapping flexible, cone-shaped branches and evergreen branches with twine to create these icons. The result will be spectacular.

7. Nest of eggs and flowers

Make a nest out of flexible branches and decorate it with moss, small bulbous flowers and eggs. You can use it as a table centerpiece or an ornament hung from the ceiling or secured to a wall.

8. Springtime window

Make a small window frame using thin twigs and embellish it with lace, tiny garlands or wreaths and flowers.

9. Easter bunnies

Walking in the woods, you can find branches of all shapes and sizes. You might even be able to collect some that resemble rabbits. Decorate them using yarn and straw. The only limit is your imagination.

10. A colorful tree

Create a colorful tree using a simple branch: decorate it as you wish with eggs, butterflies, flowers and paper birds. It will be a decoration full of life and joy!

11. Carrot wreaths

Making this very unique wreath from carrots is really easy: intertwine flexible branches to form a circle, make faux carrots by wrapping raffia around some small flexible twigs and coloring them orange and green. The result will be spectacular!

Finally, here is another take on the traditional Easter tree. You can make simple paper eggs using colored card or paper and hang them from the tree's branches.
