How pleasant is it to enter a clean, perfumed car? There are those who pride themselves on keeping their cars in impeccable condition; then there are those who are perhaps a little more relaxed about the level of cleanliness of their vehicles. Certainly, however, nobody likes seeing the car seats marred by dirt and stains on their upholstery. Whether it's because of children, pets, eating in the car, body sweat, etc, there comes a time when we have to clean the interiors of our cars.

So what can we do in the case of stains that have got into the upholstery? You can contract specialized services, of course, but you might be able to do this yourself using suitable tools. Read on to find out more:

On TikTok, a content creator, Brandon, who specializes in cleaning various types of upholstery, shows us a method that he always finds very effective. For this, you will need:

  • alcohol to disinfect (230 ml)
  • water (230ml)
  • dish soap (1 tablespoon)
  • a spray bottle to mix everything in
  • an upholstery brush (with stiff bristles)
  • an extractor for cleaning upholstery/carpets
  • clean, dry towels or microfiber cloths

As Brandon explains in his video, most methods do not completely get rid of stains. With his method, however, the results look professional. Here's how it's done:

  • Mix all the ingredients in the spray bottle;
  • Shake well and spray the stains on the seats, ensuring they soak up the mixture;
  • Help the mix penetrate by rubbing the stain with a brush;
  • Then use the extractor, carefully passing it over the affected area of the seat;
  • Cover the entire area with a layer of dry towels, keeping them on for 24 hours.

In this way, the towels will not only absorb the humidity from the seat, but all the residual dirt that was not removed in the first pass. This method can also be used on sofas , armchairs and carpeting in the house.

Have you ever tried this method?
