There are many who choose to wash their cars by themselves at home, avoiding expensive car wash centers. It is certainly more economical, but the work can also be satisfying and cathartic, especially if done on a hot and sunny day.

Whatever the reason, everyone has their own favorite techniques and their own procedures. There is no one rule that applies to everyone. And there are no products that are better than others. Everyone finds their favorite by experimenting. There are some parts of the car that are more difficult to clean and require more care to return to tip-top condition. For example, consider the headlights. You can't always make these gleam again like the rest of the bodywork.

However, there are a few clever tips that can solve this problem perfectly. Keep reading and you will find out what they are:

To reveal one of the tips we have mentioned is @livecomposed, a very popular content creator on TikTok - famous for the incredible cleaning tips he shares with his followers. Azure MacCannell is the full name of this popular content creator, and he shows in a video how he manages to make his car's headlights shine like new again using "Scrubbing Bubbles" (a bathroom cleaner brand which can found in most shops). If you want to try Azure's method, you can try using any equivalent spray cleaning product. Proceed as follows:

  • Spray the product on the car lamp so as to cover the entire surface.
  • Let it act for a few minutes.
  • Remove with a damp cloth, polishing the glass properly and without leaving any streaks.

If you want to see for yourself how well this works, you can watch the video posted by Azure MacCannell. Another tip that some use is....toothpaste! The procedure is more or less the same that described above. A small amount of toothpaste is placed on a damp cloth and rubbed vigorously on the headlight. It is left to act for a few minutes and then removed with a cloth rinsed in water and wrung out well. It seems that the toothpaste method also gives good results.

Have you ever tried either method?
