Cleaning ceiling fans isn't always a simple, fast job, given the height at which some of are positioned and their shape. It is usually one of those household chores that requires time and patience. And a good deal of agility is also required to reach the fan.

As if this wasn't enough, dirt and dust accumulates not only on the sides of the blades, but also in all the nooks and crannies of the device. That said, there are some ingenious tips and alternative solutions that can allow us to do this household chore faster and more efficiently.

These tips were revealed in a video posted to TikTok by @livecomposed, a very popular content creator specializing in household cleaning chores. And the secret, apparently, is to use famous brand, large-sized wet wipes. These are cloths usually used for cleaning external areas such as camp sites, hunting lodges, fishing areas, boats and so on. But following the procedure shown by @livecomposed, you can also clean a ceiling fan porperly. In order to do so, equip yourself as follows:

  • Get yourself a large pair of metal pliers and wrap its grips in one of the wipes we mentioned above.
  • Grasp each fan blade with the pliers, making sure that each of its two sides are in contact with the pliers.
  • Slide the pliers along the blade, removing all the dirt from the blade's surfaces.

The fact that these cloths are large makes them much more suitable for this operation to be carried out, allowing them to capture dust and dirt in a single movement and with little effort.

If you want to see for yourself how simple and practical this procedure is, watch the video on the user's account. You will also see the type of wipes used and you can decide whether or not to source similar (cheaper) ones on the market, ideally the same size, however.

Did you ever imagine you could clean a fan like this?
