Near-invisible dirt on the bathroom walls: a video reveals how much can accumulate

How often do you clean the bathroom fixtures - the mirror and the floor in particular - thoroughly, without thinking about the other surfaces? We are not referring to shelves and wall units - which must also be cleaned periodically - but rather to the walls of the room itself - in particular the walls of the shower cubicle, those around the bathtub or those behind the sink.

Generally, these walls are covered with ceramic tiles or other washable materials. But, let's face it, we don't clean these surfaces very often. The reason is simple: while some surfaces show dirt easily, the walls tend not to do so.

A TikTok video uploaded by @tera.nelli, however, shows just how much dirt can be deposited on walls.

The woman takes a razor blade (we do not advise you do this!) and pushes it along a wall, moving upward and scraping away a film of greasy dirt that was near-invisible. The clip is only a few seconds, but very impactful.

Someone, in the comments, argues that in reality, the woman is scraping off the protective film from the wall, damaging it in the process. But we also read an answer to this comment: "No way, dude. I worked for a cleaning company and in particular soap bars create a right mess in the bathtub and on the wall tiles! It comes off in sheets!".

The clip is not the most pleasant viewing, but it gives us an idea of how important it is to periodically clean the bathroom walls - especially around the shower and tub, where it is easier for traces of soap to accumulate.

Depending on the surface material, you can do this cleaning using white vinegar or citric acid - perhaps mixed with a drop of dish soap. Or use your favorite degreaser. And you can also help yourself by always keeping a dish brush ready, loaded with your favorite product to wash the walls with!

Take care of the your walls, and make sure the tiles are not neglected: it is also a question of ensuring good hygiene.
