Traveling by air is, for many, an thrilling experience: travel, vacations, detaching oneself from daily routines. Thus, many people dress up for the occasion, and they wear their most beautiful clothes, funny T-shirts, and so on. There's nothing wrong with this, but if you're looking to travel comfortably, sometimes you have to compromise and sacrifice a bit on fashion.

It is best to wear clothes which are comfortable and efficient, even if not exactly fashionable. Flight attendants are among the people who understand these needs best, and below are some of their tips that have been shared online:

Comfortable shoes: high heels are out. Imagine having to run to catch the plane that is about to leave in high heels. Or if there are long stopovers or delays and you have to wait longer than expected at the airport, wearing heels becomes very uncomfortable.

Light clothing: It is true that you may depart from or to a warm destination during the hottest months of the year, but planes have a controlled climate inside them, which is usually quite cool. So it's good to dress in layers and include a sweatshirt or jacket, or even a light scarf to avoid getting cold on the flight.

Tight dresses: a bit like heels, here too the emphasis is on comfort. Opting for slightly softer and more forgiving models of trousers, skirts or dresses, then you are sure enjoy greater comfort en route.

Again, avoid clothes that are complicated to take off and put on - especially when you use the toilet in flight.

Contact lenses: these are essential for many people who just do not like to use reading glasses. But the air that continuously circulates in the aircraft creates a dry atmosphere that makes it very annoying if you have contacts. So maybe keep their case close at hand and store them when they start to bother you (using glasses to replace them temporarily).

This is a matter of consideration for others: don't wear strong perfumes. They may not bother you, but you will spend hours sitting next to other people for which your perfume could be nauseating! Be considerate for others.

Tips like these could make your next trip even more enjoyable and special!
