Do you love romantic gardens? Create an enchanting Provençal garden corner by trying out these ideas

Rustic and at the same time chic, delicate and romantic, the Provençal garden has the charm of yesteryear. Aromatic plants, lavender, stone walls, wicker baskets, ancient roses, wrought iron garden furniture: these are some of the main elements that characterize a Provençal-style garden. All located in a delightfully vintage setting with delicate tones, which is easily reproduced in Mediterranean and countryside contexts (which share the mild and temperate climate with Provence, a region located in the south of France).

If you don't feel like transforming your entire garden but want to customize only one or two corners, you can take advantage of antique vases, jugs and buckets, and planting flowers and plants typical of the style in them, starting with the ubiquitous, scented lavender. Wrought iron tables and chairs will also help create the perfect Provencal atmosphere.

Start by customizing your Provencal corner by selecting wicker or vintage-styled baskets. You can insert fresh or dried flowers, but also whole plants, starting with lavender and aromatic herbs. Place them in the baskets without removing them from the vase and by placing them in the selected corner outdoors.

The undisputed star of the Provençal-style garden is lavender, which in addition to giving off a wonderful scent, colors the environment with pleasant lilac shades. Among other things, it is a hardy plant and is also an excellent natural repellent against mosquitoes and other insects. Rustic but also elegant, lavender cannot be missing from a Provençal-style garden.

Aromatic / spice / herb plants are also perfect for your Provençal garden corner. You can grow them in clay pots or even plant them in recycled old, vintage buckets. Rosemary, thyme, sage, basil, mint, oregano - the choice is wide and very fragrant. Not to mention that the herbs are excellent in the kitchen.

Wrought iron is a material widely used in Provencal-styled gardens and lends itself perfectly to creating a wonderfully themed corner. So how does one use this material? An example could be inserting a gazebo on which to grow wisteria or vines or, if the space available is limited, and by placing a table and chairs made of this material in a corner. If they are vintage pieces, even better - the worn, weathered effect is in perfect harmony with the Provencal style.

Staying with the vintage theme, if you have old buckets, jugs and watering cans laying around, don't throw them away but place them on the ground next to each other. Alternatively, you can arrange them on top of old wooden chairs, enhancing them with the inclusion of flowers and plants.

All you have to do is get everything you need, and you can set up a little bit of France in your garden.
