Illuminate the garden with the right lighting: lots of ideas to inspire you

Just like in the home, the garden lighting system must be designed with care: the goal is not simply to place light sources which perform only the mere function of making a passageway visible, but to use the light and also the source of the light (the light fittings) as decorative elements.

Thus, not only the design of pathway lamps, lanterns and spotlights becomes important, but also their position, size, intensity and temperature of the light. Everything will contribute to enhancing corners of the garden and changing the perception of these spaces to make the outdoors more beautiful - even at night.

The classically styled street lamps always have a great charm - they make one think about the cities of the past. And they are also very attractive in a smaller versions, like the short lamps that discreetly illuminate paths and flowerbeds.

In some gardens, however, it will be better to choose smaller street lamps with a decidedly more modern and minimalist design. Often they are powered by solar energy, so you can save money and be eco-sensitive.

There is really is an infinite number of choices available in terms of models: sometimes they also change the colours of the light they project and they are very scenographic.

Along the flowerbeds that line the pathways - and in order not to install too many flashy elements that would distract from the flowerbed itself - low lamps are often used, which at night will project the light downward (downlighters).

Spotlights embedded in the pavement of a walkway: when they are installed flush with the side walls, the effect is beautiful - even if they project their light upwards, drawing bright stripes on the side walls themselves.

On the other hand, when there are no vertical borders, you can play with the light beams projected horizontally over the walkway.

And why consider light as a way to decorate? There are mobile lamps that can be placed on the ground at night and they become enchanting, luminous spheres.

Or some outdoor lanterns placed on the walkway!

Not to mention the DIY ideas for outdoor light fittings that illuminate and decorate the relaxation areas: there are plenty of these models - which can also be the product of very creative recycling projects!
