Rope-style braids: very simple steps to quickly braid and ensuring the locks don't come loose

Styling your hair in a braid is a way to wear it comfortably but also elegantly. Braids can be used both when you don't want to keep your hair loose, but also for some particular occasion. There are many types of braid to try, but one of the simplest and with a guaranteed effect, is the rope style.

It is a type of braid hairstyle that starts with the same movements as the French braid, but is created using even simpler steps, so it is really quick to make, and you can even braid it yourself with a minimum of practice. Read on to find out how to make this rope braid for your hair.

As with a French braid, start by taking a portion of the hair on the top of the head, at the forehead and leaving the ones that hang down from the temples. Comb this section back to remove any knots and then divide it in half.

Pass one strand under the other: it does not matter if in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction, as long as it is the most comfortable one for you, which you will use until the end.

After doing this you will find yourself with two locks. Take another portion of hair from the right temple and join it to the right strand, and do the same on the left side of the head, then wrap the two strands again with the same movement as before. Depending on how big the locks you take from the sides of your head are, your braid will change appearance, becoming more or less tangled.

Continue like this, slowly descending to the nape of the neck.

When you get to the base of the nape, and with no other new strands to take from the sides of the head, you can continue all the way, and by doing so, once you have tied the final tail with the elastic, you will notice that the braid loosens up to the head. If you like this soft look, that's fine, but if you prefer it to keep its more defined shape, then you need to take it one step further.

Take each of the two long locks that hang from the base of the nape and twist them around themselves, both in the same direction, then wrap them one over the other to the end, continuing the design of the rope.
