Indoor walking is an activity done at home by walking on the spot in the home: in short, it's a dynamic walk, which allows you to burn around 300-400 calories per hour (and even more by adding specific movements to make with your legs and arms).

In fact, there are different types of indoor walking, some of which involve using the whole body or involve specific movements designed to burn more calories. These indoor walking workouts can be adapted to all ages and fitness levels. Exercise sessions can last from 15 to 45 minutes (or longer).

All you need is a pair of comfortable shoes and workout clothes to get started doing this exercising at home. So how exactly is it done? Well, let's check out some exercises:

Just 10 minutes are enough to start exercising if you are a complete beginner or if you have mobility issues: just walk on the spot while swinging your arms. Thereafter, performing a few, simple lateral movements with your legs, bending and lifting your arms and knees.

So, what are the advantages of indoor walking?

  • The top advantage is the possibility of training at any time of the day, without any time constraints;
  • The second advantage is adaptability: you can easily adapt your exercise to the time you have available, your fitness level and your experience;
  • You can combine indoor walking with other exercises such as yoga, pilates, stretching and other fitness exercises;
  • You can exercise wherever you find yourself;
  • Unlike classic walking and running, indoor walking does not cause any damage to the joints.

Now you really have no more excuses: put on your tracksuit and sneakers and get walking!
