Can't whiten the grouting between the tiles? Try this natural and inexpensive compound

How many times, whilst cleaning, do we notice areas that remain looking dirty? Tight corners, hidden spots and hard-to-reach/clean areas, such as the joints (and grouting) between tiles.

Whether it's a bathroom or kitchen, these joints between the tiles seem to be a "magnet" for dirt: they turn black easily and cannot be cleaned easily. However, resorting to using harsh chemicals is not always a good idea. Instead, we can easily make our own cleaning compound - read on to find out more:

Getting the joints and grouting white again is not impossible, even if it may seem this way at times. There's a cheap and environmentally friendly way to do this and we describe this below:

So how to proceed?

We need to create our own cleaning compound: just get a bowl and an old toothbrush, and then start mixing the two "magic" ingredients.

These two ingredients are hydrogen peroxide and bicarbonate (baking soda).

That's right: in the bowl, mix a cup of bicarbonate with half a glass of hydrogen peroxide until a sort of "paste" is formed that is not too stiff and dense. Then, apply the paste to the grout between the tiles with the toothbrush (being careful not to scratch the tiles) and waiting about 10-15 minutes afterwards for the paste to take effect.

After 10-15 minutes, we can wipe off the grouting with a damp cloth and, if our homemade paste has worked, we will see that the grouting is white again!

Simple, right? Have you ever tried this?
