Sometimes we would like to try our hand at some DIY project but we lack the tools: to do a proper job, we need to have the proper tools to hand. But then, we may be put off our project at the thought of having to buy new tools and utensils. But how about considering using a plastic container (jug) to make many useful objects, including tools?

This could be an old plastic container of laundry detergent, milk or other foods. In fact, all of these containers lend themselves to becoming useful accessories, perhaps even very creative and decorative ones too. Check out the ideas below:

Cut off the top of a plastic jug, leaving the bottom. Smooth the edges a bit so that they aren't sharp, and you'll have little boxes to use in a thousand ways - even as handy dividers for drawers.

If you cut these bottoms leaving the edges a bit higher, you will have a flower pot (but remember to put drainage holes in the bottom, before filling it with soil). Alternatively, you could decorate a container with high edges and turn it into a vase.
