Cleaning, maintenance and organising the home requires an enormous amount of care, tools, products and effort. And buying all these cleaning products can be expensive.

But there are much cheaper alternatives that can be deployed with a little creativity and recycling. For a low cost, it is possible to find home care solutions without necessarily having to spend a fortune. We show you, below, some of these tips that could prove to be particularly useful and effective.

Drawer organizers can be found just about everywhere, but they come at a cost. The alternative is to make your own by cutting up boxes and making them perfect separators for clothes and linen. Another particularly useful idea is to use old muffin trays as jewelry boxes or for other small items.

Disposable cloths to remove dust are, without a shadow of a doubt, very useful. But do you want the advantage of not having to buy them? All you need to do is find an old sweatshirt, cut it into dusters. These are perfect replacements and cheaper than the originals. Seeing is believing!

Gardening can also be cheaper with some DIY watering cans. To make them, take any plastic container with a lid. Heat a needle until it becomes red hot and use it to make holes in the lid. All you need to do now is fill the container with water, close the perforated lid and water your plants.

Cladding cardboard boxes with fabric or lenci cloth to better organize the spaces in the home is an excellent solution. The advantage - in addition to saving money - lies in the fact that you can choose the size, material and color or pattern with which to decorate the boxes. And on the web, there are many tutorials that will show you how to do this.

A cheaper, greener, and non-toxic alternative to bleach for cleaning grout, tiles, and the rest of the bathroom is a baking soda-based cleaning compound. Mix it with Marseille soap flakes and a few drops of an essential oil of your choice. Use this mix together with water to remove dirt from the aforementioned areas.

Even wet wipes can be easily made at home and without having to buy them. Cut a paper towel roll in half and place it in an empty coffee can or mason jar. Then, pour in a mix of a cup of vinegar, half a cup of water, half a cup of denatured alcohol and a few drops of dish soap. Completely soak the paper towel roll. Once done, remove the inner tube and begin tearing the wipes from the center, just like you would with a regular pack.

For a very cheap and natural air freshener, try using coffee grounds. Let them dry out first and then mix them with a few drops of vanilla extract. Put this mixture in an old sock or in a container that can be left open where needed. Coffee grounds perfectly neutralize bad smells and vanilla obviously helps to deodorize the surroundings.

Have you ever tried any of these ideas?
