Not everyone is used to sanitizing their travel luggage after using it. But it is good practice to always do so. Suitcases come into contact with all types of dirt both on the insides (where we put our dirty shoes and clothes after having used them), and on the outsides (being put down all over the place).

It goes without saying, that to avoid suitcases becoming vehicles for bacteria and dirt to enter the home, we should sanitize them every time we need to put them back into storage.

Have no fear: this can be done easily by following a few quick and simple steps that will clean your luggage properly.

@nowitsclean - a very popular user on TikTok for providing cleaning tips - shows in a video the perfect procedure to sanitize a suitcase in just a few steps. The operation is really quick and easy to follow, as you see below:

  • Begin by taking care of the outside of the suitcase, passing a disinfectant wipe (wet wipe) over it and paying attention to carefully treat all areas, especially the wheels. The wheels are the primary spreaders of bacteria if they are not cleaned properly.
  • Then move on to the inside of the suitcase, cleaning all the internal sufaces with another disinfectant wipe and steam. There are numerous appliances on the market for this type of steam treatment and it is always useful to have one at home for sanitization purposes.
  • Once the cleaning is finished, leave the suitcase to air dry, closing it and putting it back in storage only when it is perfectly dry.

These steps are quick and very simple to carry out but are really essential to clean your luggage properly. You can see for just how easy it is by watching the video here or on the @nowitsclean account.
