Towers made from Christmas ball decorations: a decidedly unique decoration

There is no doubt that the most common type of Christmas ornament - the one that immediately makes one think of the festivities to come -  are the decorative balls that hang from the branches of a Christmas tree. Over the years, balls have been used in many other ways: in combination with wreaths, to fill centrepieces, decorate vases and a thousand other containers, for example.

There is another way to use these balls in a decoration: stack them vertically, creating a sort of "tower" that can be proudly displayed. Check out the ideas below:

The height is up to you, but the higher these towers are, the more carefully you will need to stack and arrange them. Start with the largest at the bottom and reduce their sizes as you move upward.

The tip/top is generally decorated with like the top of a Christmas tree. But this is always a matter of personal choice and creativity.

How is this done? You need to choose the balls you will use and imagine the arrangement. Then, the diameter of the smaller balls is determined and a stick is chosen (wooden, plastic, iron... whichever you prefer), which will be able to pass through them. At this point, you can use a drill to make holes in the top and bottom of each ball. Then each ball can be secured on the stick in a pre-established order. And to ensure greater stability, everything can be secured using hot glue.

This ball-towers can be placed in vases, candle holders, and more!

Or, you could leave the sticks protruding from the bottom so you can plant your towers into vases and flower beds.

They are very attractive when they are decorated at their bases using green fronds and/or fairy lights.

A bit like topiary art compositions in the garden (in fact, we also speak of "Christmas topiary" when describing these creations), you could use them outside, perhaps even at the entrance to the home.

Happy Holidays!
