Remove limescale stains from glasses: make them shine again using simple, natural remedies

We would all like to have glasses that are always shiny and bright to show off to our guests when they come to visit us or to display in a cabinet. The glasses we use every day, however, do not always meet these expectations.

The limescale present in the water with which we wash them - especially if we put them in the dishwasher - causes an annoying white film to form on them. In addition to being very unsightly, limescale makes glasses look old, worn and dirty - even when they have just been washed.

There are, however, good solutions to this type of problem that exploit the anti-limescale properties of some natural products. Read on to find out what they are:

It seems redundant to say that there are some steps we can take to prevent this problem, but not everyone takes these measures. Proceed as follows:

  • Place the glasses far enough apart in the dishwasher for the best flow of water.
  • Wipe the glasses with a cloth soaked in vinegar or lemon juice before placing them in the dishwasher.
  • Dry the glasses after washing them to prevent water from drying on them, causing limescale stains .

If these steps do not give the desired results or are only partially useful, you can take further measures. Proceed as follows:

  • Vinegar, lemon or baking soda: all three of these products have anti-limescale properties which guarantee clean glasses. Immerse the glasses carefully in a large container full of hot water to which you have previously added the juice of two lemons, a glass of vinegar or two tablespoons of baking soda. Leave the glasses in the water for a couple of hours. Rinse them off and place them upside down on a clean tea towel. Here, they will drip-dry without the water leaving stains.

  • Marseille soap, vinegar and lemon: if it seems to you that the limestone is too stubborn and is not shiifting, try an equally natural but slightly stronger remedy. You can put it into practice by combining the cleaning power and properties of several elements. We are talking about white vinegar, lemon and Marseille soap. Create a mixture with water, soap flakes, a glass of vinegar and the juice of one lemon. Immerse the glasses in the water and leave them there for about 12 hours. After this time, rinse off thoroughly. Let them drain and drip-dry on a clean cloth.

Did you know about any of these remedies?
