Curtains are often indispensable in certain rooms of the house. They shield us from the sun's rays, helping us to maintain a tolerable temperature indoors. They also provide us privacy from prying eyes. And once they are put up, they help any environment look more beautiful.

Despite our choice of curtain, once we put it on the rails, there is not much we can do to change the way they hang. But what if we told you that there was a way to make any hung curtain look much more sophisticated? There is a very simple tip to do this and which costs almost nothing.

All you need is:

  • cardboard tubes (such from toilet paper or kitchen paper);
  • a pencil or pen or marker;
  • scissors.

As we can see in a video from @hammsmom on TikTok, the process is very simple:

  • Take the cardboard tubes and make a pencil mark where they need to be cut: you must end up with tubes that are all the same length. It doesn't matter if they have different diameters, as long as they are wide enough to fit easily on the rail that holds the curtain. You can create the right size on the first tube, cut it, and then use this to mark all the others;
  • Remember that you will need to have a number of cardboard tubes equal to the total spaces between one ring and the next of the curtain;
  • Cut off the surplus pieces from each tube;
  • Remove the curtain and the rail from the wall;
  • Thread the first curtain loop onto the rod, then a piece of cardboard, then a loop again, and continue alternating like this until you reach the last curtain loop;
  • Remount the rail with the curtain on it.

Et voilà, the curtain is ready. Obviously, it's a method that works with curtains that slide directly onto the rail and not those that use hooks with clips in onthe fabric.

You can check out the video tutorial here. Are you ready to give it a try?
