Make room in the freezer with this brilliant method for storing ground beef

Being able to take advantage of a large freezer is a great convenience: it helps us to stock up on food, without having to go shopping more often than we want to. And having stocks at home can help us overcome the unexpected (like surprise guests arriving for dinner).

However big the appliance may be, however, there is always the risk of filling it quickly poorly if you do not pay attention to the way in which items are packed inside it. Often, in fact, we could pack our freezers much more intelligently. In the case of meat, it can help to use airtight bags - as shown in a TikTok video about storing ground beef.

This is a popular method that is well worth considering: it saves more space in the freezer, and each packet of ground beef can be divided into portions so that you don't have to defrost all of it when needed. So, how is this done? Read on to find out:

All you need is:

  • Airtight bags
  • A knife

Nothing could be simpler! Here's how to proceed:

  • Fill each bag with a quantity of ground meat, but do not overdo it: you will need to leave some free space at the edges.
  • Close the hermetic seal of the bag.
  • Flatten the meat inside the bag, so that it creates an even layer that fills the bag completely, and so that is not too thick.
  • Take the knife and, using the non-sharpened side of the blade, pass it over the closed bag, thus tracing the divisions that correspond to the desired portions. You will need to make sure that the groove is deep enough but without cutting the bag.
  • Put the packages thus obtained in the freezer, on a plate, and that's it.

In this way, when you take out each bag, you only have to open the zip lock and extract the pre-cut portions you need, without having to thaw out the entire package. See here how easy and useful this is.

Have you ever used this method at home?
