Changing the sheets is often a boring and tedious job, because it requires a patience and precision that, especially when you have very little time. The situation gets complicated when the sheet does not have elasticated corners.

Many of us have un-elasticated sheets. But these sheets can also be put on a bed easily and can be made to look perfect.

In a video on TikTok, @thefoldinglady, an expert in tidying and home organization, shows a very simple technique to make a sheet fit perfectly on the mattress, when it has no elasticated corners. The procedure is quite simple and can be summarized in a few steps:

  • Starting at the foot of the bed, tuck the edge of the sheet snugly under the mattress.
  • Then move to one of the corners, making the end of that same side of the sheet fit to the corner of the mattress.
  • Fold the end of the sheet that covers the side of the bed vertically over the same corner.
  • Insert the edge of the sheet under the mattress on this side as well.
  • Repeat for all corners and that's it.

If you want to see and memorize these steps better, we suggest you take a look at the short video posted by @thefoldinglady.

Don't think, however, that dealing only with sheets with elasticated corners will save you from the unexpected. They are certainly more easy to use, but folding them can become complicated if the right technique is not applied. In this regard, however, there are also tips and tutorials created specifically to make your life easier. The most used technique is to join the corners by flipping them and then arranging them so that they are folded inside. Once the corners have been arranged, you can proceed by folding the sheet in half, in thirds or in quarters, according to your needs.

What sheets do you usually use?
