Folding blankets into cushions: an ingenious and decorative space-saving idea

How many times do we have covers and blankets laying around the house that we do not know where to store in a handy spot? Especially in evenings and during the cold seasons, these covers are found all over the rooms in our homes. Once used, however, they lay around untidily, usually on beds and sofas.

And even if a room is clean and tidy, a blanket, just thrown down somewhere, immediately makes a room look messy. There is a method, however, for folding blankets into small, compact and cushion-like forms - and will help to keep our rooms looking neat and orderly.

The technique we're talking about is shown in a video on TikTok from user @effectivespaces. The user in question is an enthusiast of home tips and has a very popular account where she dispenses valuable, creative housekeeping advice.

The woman shows us how to fold two blankets, in a very similar way. The method is easier to do than to describe in words but can be summarized in a few simple steps:

  • Fold the blanket, several times, until you get a long, narrow shape.
  • Begin folding the strip on both sides, but do it only once on one side and several times on the other.
  • When the side you have folded is ready, insert everything under the top flap of the folded side.
  • That flap will act as a "holder" and you will find yourself holding a soft square of fleece to put on beds, sofas or armchairs, together with the other cushions.
  • Alternatively, as is done in the video with the second blanket, you can roll it up instead of folding it many times. In this case, rather than a square pillow, you will get one with a cylindrical shape - just as beautiful and neat.

This idea can become even more useful if you get blankets that match the cushions or other furnishings, combining everything. If you want to see the procedure described in detail, you can watch the video on the user's profile.

What do you think about this? Is this an idea you will try to use?
