Truly waterproofed hair: you can say goodbye to frizzy hair with these solutions

Anyone who loves to show off perfectly smooth and shiny hair - whether obtained by a skilful styling using a brush and hairdryer, or with a straightener - knows that even the most good-looking and well-groomed hairstyle has a great enemy: humidity.

After hours spent in the bathroom or at the hairdresser to ensure not a hair is out of place, a humid atmosphere is enough, to ruin a hairdo. This is what is commonly referred to as the "frizz effect". However, there are precautions one can take to avoid this disaster:

On TikTok, this battle against humidity seems to have found a turning point with a product that is said to be miraculous:  in a single action, it produces straight, shiny, waterproofed hair. It's true!

As you can see in the viral video shared by @chrisappletonhair on his account, there is a "remarkable" spray that makes hair waterproof. In the clip, the hairdresser shows the model's hair before applying the product: it is healthy and long, but unruly and frizzy.

The hairdresser then proceeds to apply a spray onto the wet hari, leaving it on for a short while and then moving on to styling the hair. It is a no-rinse spray, which resists 3 or 4 subsequent shampoos. The effect is truly incredible, and on social media, the product has become a sort of Holy Grail for many. Click here to watch the video and find out what this spray is.

But if you don't want to use this product, you still have a few more solutions to try to avoid frizzing of your hair:

  • Apple cider vinegar: slightly acidic, it acts on the pH of the hair, keeping the cuticles closed. It is a well-known remedy in the world of DIY products. But always be careful to use it in moderation, diluting it well. As a guide, use 80 ml of vinegar for 250 ml of hot water. Wet your hair, and rinse for 3 minutes maximum, no more than twice a week.
  • Coconut oil: Before or after washing, apply a little coconut oil all over your hair, leaving it on for 15 minutes before rinsing off.
  • Argan oil: use a few drops (otherwise it will weigh down your hair), before styling. Distribute it well all over the hair.
  • Avocado: You can make a hair wrap with a pureed avocado and mix in enough coconut oil to make an easy-to-apply cream. Leave it on for at least 15 minutes before rinsing off.
  • Eggs: beat two eggs until you get a frothy mixture, dab it on all over your hair and then cover all the hair with cling film for 15 minutes. Then wash off with cold or warm water (but not hot water, as this will "cook" the eggs in the hair!)
