A secret weapon to wash walls effortlessly? For many it is a flat-headed mop

Washing the walls is one of those household chores that always take a lot of time and often forces you to move everything out of the way, use ladders and stools or stretch in really uncomfortable ways. Sometimes, you can use mops for brooms to which damp microfiber cloths are attached.

However, there are also special tools to do this job, and some of these proved really popular (especially on social media channels like TikTok or Instagram). Showing how to use one of these very tools is Azure MacCannell, on her @livecomposed account.

The tool shown in the video is a flat mop with a rounded head - often seen in online tutorials. It is a mop without the traditional head but uses a soft cloth that can be replaced and washed after each use.

In a popular video, @livecomposed shows how she uses this tool to thoroughly clean the  walls of a room, including any partitions: in the sink (or a basin), prepare a mixture of hot water and some detergent (or use hydrogen peroxide, which is also suggested in the comments), immerses the whole mop into the sink and then wipe away the dirt from the walls. The dirt seems to disappear almost magically.

Her choice, then, is to immerse the mop into this mixture and to tackle the chore properly prepared and tooled up.

However, not everyone uses the flat mop in this way. Indeed, the company that makes the mop, contacted Azure MacCannell, explaining that the most efficient way is to use a spray on the cleaning surface of the tool. As a result, the TikTokker has created a new video to show how the mop can even be used to clean the kids scribblings from a door (there is a specific product used, but you could use what usually you do to clean your doors).

Once you clean the wooden door panels - which might be in a really terrible condition - it can erase all other types of marking and stains. You can see this demonstrated in the second video here.

Do you also use a mop to clean walls and doors?
