Anyone who loves taking care of plants always has a lot of pots full of many different specimens, and when you can take advantage of a garden, you are also usually lucky enough to have the space in which to keep them. Yet, even in this case, it is possible that putting pots everywhere makes it a little difficult to move around and work - not to mention that perhaps the clutter on the ground does not allow you to see the beauty of every single plant.

Shelves can then come in handy here. They can be used to create well-finished and tailor-made vertical plant displays, which can also can also function as small work shelves. Check out the ideas below:

One of the simplest and cheapest types you can create is a kind of one- or two-shelf table made from hollow concrete breeze blocks and sturdy wooden planks.

A wooden structure reminiscent of a Swedish painting can also be used, positioned at a tilt and leaning against walls or fences, and with a vase placed in each square (hanging from hooks, in this example).

And what about a wooden newsstand mounted on a house wall or the side of a shed?

A pallet painted black, mounted on wooden fence of the same color: a beautiful contrast is created using white pots!

Even ever-smaller galvanized metal basins can be stacked inside each other to create a sort of multi-tiered, fountain-like planter.

If you have some old plate stand (sideboard), you can turn it into a shelving unit to be placed in a protected area, perhaps under a canopy or porch.

Even simple wooden boxes (like wine boxes) stacked - and secured together properly - can accommodate vases in a pleasant and creative way.

An old, wooden stepladder is another idea that always pleases the eye.

Metal step shelves (resembling bleachers) are also easily found for sale in garden centers and other shops.

For a sheltered area, perhaps near an entrance, you could use a pallet placed vertically.
