Seating plan for a wedding reception: guide your guests to their tables in style
A clear, attractive seating plan placed at the entrance to the reception area is an essential component for a well-organized wedding: as soon as the guests arrive they need to be able to easily and quickly consult this plan to find their tables. For this reason, the plan must be positioned in a highly visible spot and must be clearly legible and large enough to serve its purpose.
Traditionally, a seating plan is a relatively simple, framed sign, but you can go for something a little more original - keep reading for some unique suggestions:
A blackboard
For wedding signage, you need to ensure your scribe has excellent calligraphy skills. This is of fundamental importance when creating the table placeholders and the seating plan. If you use a blackboard to display your seating plan, the script used must be clear, legible and, of course, aesthetically pleasing.
Mirrors for the seating plan
Here's an elegant touch, using a large mirror to display the seating plan. Or you can also use multiple mirrors mounted on a framework panel, each with the name of the table and the guests who are sitting at it.
Lots of picture frames
Rather than using the traditional single frame, you can update this look a bit by using multiple smaller picture frames grouped together. The example pictured here shows this type of configuration, and displayed like a painters easel.
Minimalist and modern
A thin metal framework, some vertical velvet ribbons and on them the cards with the tables and names nicely printed on them. To soften everything, some evergreens an/or flowers: simple, elegant and effective.
Plants and flowers
It's difficult to imagine a wedding that doesn't have at least a few flowers for decorating the reception area, and you can use them for the seating plan display as well. Beautiful, simple and also takes up little space - as shown in the example here!
A touch of nature
An outdoor reception - perhaps even in a clearing in the woods or at a park? This simple and adorable slotted-branch idea is a winner!
Banners, standards and scrolls
A bit like court announcements from the distant past, but modified for the present: hanging from frames or various supports, fabric banners or standards with all the information neatly printed (or painted!) on them is a very unique idea.
And what about a scroll secured to the trunk of a tree? You will feel like you are in a fairy tale.
For star-gazers
Do you love gazing at the night sky? Well how about this seating plan that is inspired by a starry sky, showing all the constellations?
When marriage is a parlor game
The king of board games is transformed into a fun seating plan that can be customized however you wish: with a Monopoly board, the graphics are already printed!

Amongst the timeless themes for weddings is a rustic decor. And this theme can extend to the seating plan too. What do you think about using these wooden boxes and vintage objects as a seating plan display?
Or glass demijohns (carboys), each indicating a table with the relevant names handwritten on them. Arranged in a staggered arrangement, and even perhaps having different shapes, they create a composition that is very pleasant to behold.

Old windowf frames, shutters or doors can be recycled for displaying your seating plan: with a little imagination, you can use a myrid of recycled materials to display your seating plan!
