Few things are more pleasant than taking a hot shower at the end of a tiring day: the warm jet of water not only washes away dust and dirt, but also helps us relax.

That said, the frequent use of the shower leads to a rapid accumulation of limescale and soap residue in the cubicle, and this needs to be taken care of. These residues can build up and harden over time, become very difficult to remove, and will facilitate the appearance of mold in this humid area.

So how do you keep your shower cubicle in pristine condition? Well, are several very effective, natural methods and products you can use, and we detail these below:

The first thing to do is to ensure to dry the shower cubile after each use: keep a squeegee handy inside your shower to dry it off carefully before getting out of the shower, removing the water droplets that would otherwise evaporate and leave limescale residue.

Once a week, it is a good idea to do a more thorough cleaning of the cubicle to ensure proper hygiene standards; for this, you can use natural products (which are eco-friendly and not harmful to us). These products are:

  • Citric acid: this is the best product for removing limescale. Dissolve 150 grams of citric acid in 1 liter of water and then spray this mixture on all the surfaces of shower cubicle. Leave to act for a few minutes, then remove with a clean microfibre cloth and using a soft-bristled brush at the dirtiest spots;
  • Wine vinegar or white vinegar: vinegar is another excellent product to remove limescale. Vinegar also has a polishing action that will keep the shower cubicle clean for longer. Simply spray the vinegar on all the surfaces, wait a few minutes, then wipe and rinse off with a clean cloth.

What if mold has already formed in the shower cubicle? Again, natural products can come to the rescue:

  • Vinegar and citric acid are also effective in removing mold. Just apply the product you prefer on the affected parts and leave it to act for a few minutes before scrubbing off with a soft-bristled brush and rinsing thoroughly;
  • Bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) is also an excellent product to use. Thanks to its whitening and sanitizing action, baking soda will help you eliminate all traces of mold. Prepare a paste with bicarbonate of soda and a little water and apply this directly to the affected area. If you want a more effective action, you can add a little vinegar or citric acid and leave the paste to act until the effervescence reaction (foaming) ceases. Scrub with a soft-bristled brush and rinse off.

Using these remedies, your shower cubicle will stay clean and sanitized.
