Before starting to clean the bathroom, it is important to make sure you have all the necessary materials and products to hand. If not, go out and buy these items.

For detergents needed, we recommend:

  • A universal cleaner for cleaning sinks, bathtubs and surfaces;
  • An anti-limescale product to remove limescale deposits from taps and shower cubicles;
  • A toilet cleaner/gel specially formulated for cleaning and sanitizing the toilet;
  • A cleaner for tiles and grout.

As for cleaning tools, have the following to hand:

  • Sponges to scrub surfaces without scratching them (ie. non-abrasive types);
  • A toilet brush for cleaning the inside of the toilet;
  • A brush for cleaning the tiles and grout;
  • A mop and bucket for washing the floors;
  • Rubber gloves to protect your hands from the chemicals;
  • Microfibre cloths for drying surfaces.

Once you have all these items, you can start cleaning your bathroom.

To clean your sink, first, remove all items around/near it and use a dry cloth (or paper towels) to remove hair, dust and other debris.

Spray some universal cleaner over the entire surface and leave it to act for a few minutes. Then use a sponge or non-abrasive scourer to gently scrub the sink, paying particular attention to areas that are stained and/or have soap residue.

Rinse off thoroughly with warm water and make sure to completely remove all detergent residue. Finally, dry the sink with a microfiber cloth to avoid leaving streaks.

For faucets, in order to remove limescale deposits, apply a limescale remover (or a white vinegar solution) and leave this to act for a few minutes.

Then, use an old toothbrush or sponge to gently scrub the faucet, focusing on the base, handle and spout. Make sure you get into all the nooks and crannies.

Rinse off with clean water and dry with a microfiber cloth.

To clean the bathtub, you can follow the same process described above for the sink.

For the shower cubicle, however, use a squeegee to remove any water residues and stains. Then, use a glass cleaner spray (or a solution of vinegar and water) on the glass, wiping away with a non-abrasive sponge.

For the tiles and joints/grouting, use a commercial detergent for this purpose (or a solution of bicarbonate and water), scrubbing with the help of a brush.

For the shower head and the taps, you can follow the same procedure described above for the sink's taps.

Once the cleaning is complete, be sure to dry everything off thoroughly with a microfiber cloth so as not to leave any marks or streaks.

To clean the inside of the toilet, use a commercial product formulated for this purpose - typically a gel of some kind - and distribute it under the rim and over the internal surface of the bowl. Leave this gel on for about 15 minutes and then flush the toilet.

In this way, you will have removed the bulk of the dirt and grime. Next, use a toilet brush to scrub the inside of the bowl and remove any remaining dirt residue. Finally, flush the toilet again to rinse away.

For the toilet's external surfaces, you can use a multipurpose cleaner or a disinfectant solution: apply it to the entire external surface, including the lid, seat, cistern and base. Then use a clean cloth and a sponge to rub in and remove any stains and dirt.

By using the right products and dedicating some time to cleaning, you will be able to enjoy a shiny and sanitized bathroom that will guarantee you a clean, fresh and welcoming environment.
