It's time for your trip and you need to pack. But there's a problem: once you open up your suitcase, you notice there is a unpleasant musty smell coming out of it. Don't panic, we can deal with this easily.

As one remedy, you could carefully clean the insides of the suitcase / bag using water and vinegar mixed together in equal quantities and then spray the affected surfaces using a spray bottle, leaving it to act for a while. But there are other ingredients that help us in this task:

You can put bicarbonate of soda, ground coffee or even a little bread dipped in vinegar in the bottom of the suitcase. Once done, you will need to wait a few hours or a few days for the odor to disappear. But, of course, "prevention is better than cure", so let's see how to avoid this inconvenience altogether.

First of all, we strongly advise you to clean your suitcases thoroughly, approximately every two months. This will prevent the formation of moisture and mold. Equally important is to dry out the suitcases properly. And airing them out from time to time is also not a bad idea.

It goes without saying that it is best to store bags and suitcases in dry areas with a mild temperature and avoiding exposure to any damp.

Finally, put some breathable bags containing bicarbonate or salt inside your stored suitcases and then add a few drops of an essential oil of your liking: in this way a strong and pleasant aroma will replace any stale smell!
