Drying the laundry is not always an easy task: in fact, it can frequently happen that it takes a very long time, and lead to the development of bad smells due to stagnating humidity. And, of course, there are many reasons why you can't air-dry your washing outside (too cold, too wet, snowing, etc).

We are sure that you have tried various techniques to speed up the drying of your laundry, for example by placing it in front of a heat source, such as a radiator, stove or fireplace, or in front of an air conditioner. Or you may have been looking for a way to actively remove the humidity, for example, by using a dehumidifier or a bowl of rice placed next to the clothes horse/drying rack.

Below, we show you a way you can dry your laundry in just 15 minutes. Read on to find out how:

Your laundry will dry quickly if you know how to hang it up properly, even if you have to hang it up inside. In fact, there are several tips you can use to get your laundry to dry faster:

  • Use clothes pegs: often not used because they can leave unsightly marks on clothes, clothes pegs are useful in getting your laundry to dry, if you know how to position them. All the garments should be hung upside down for a better result, and each garment type has a proper positioning. For example, trousers should be hung up with the waist down and the pegs at the crotch, while skirts should be pegged at the side seams. As for shirts, they should be hung up with pegs along the seams of the sleeves. If you use pegs in this way, you will see that they won't have to use the iron so much either!
  • Hang up clothes on hangers: if you don't want to use pegs, another useful method to speed up drying is to hang your clothes on hangers, which can then be positioned near heat sources or in the open air or near an open window.
  • Leave space between the garments: if you hang up the laundry overlapping, you will prevent air from passing through the fabrics, making drying times much longer.
  • Finally, don't forget that a combination of the above techniques will dry out your laundry even faster.
